okay, I have a trans with 31k on it that's suddenly acting up. once and a while (slowly more and more) when I pull out from a complete stop, it slips then suddenly grabs like a go kart clutch. also a few times when I started it up and right away put in reverse but hold the brake for a minute or two, the R on the selector will flash and truck wont move until shifted in then back out of park. and there's been no codes. Now, this last one. Only happened once before, shortly before last trans puked. Yesterday my brother borrowed truck. when he pulled out of driveway, truck went into limp and R started flashing even though he was in drive. He pulled over and shut it down, sat a few min and restarted. Went into drive and no limp but ck eng light on. When I got it back everything seemed fine. drove for a few min, did that damn slip again and thats it. Didnt make it down to shop to borrow scan tool to see if theres a code. I contacted Jasper Engines, they said they'll send another unit out and exchange. And they will put mine on a dyno to see what it does. and only then they will decide if they will cover labor. Now, does this sound like it would be in trans? or do I have to go on a witch hunt? checked harness, plugs, fluid level. I'm stumped! Only good thing is that I have 10 months/68k left on waranty.

Sounds like low fluid or the sump filter fell out. Remember you want your fluid level at half way in the hot grid.

if anything the fluid is a touch on the high side. slippage is more common before fluid heats up. and needle never goes more than just a touch past mid point on gauge.

Mine was doing the same thing (2001 model as well), upon inspection I found that the Spin on was clogged as well as the interal filter.

P0847

Okay, The thing finally gave me a code. P0847 low voltage to sensor "B". which is the same code I had when I puked first trans. I had at one time a 6 Gun, which you had to tap 2 wires into harness by TCM via scotch lock. Is it posible tampering with thes wires could be my issue? My buddy is gonna cut them out and solder the wires back together in hopes to fix problem. or atleast eliminate chance of wires coroding where cut into. Oh, changed fluid and filter last night and quick slip is still there.

I believe the 2 wires you tapped into at the tcm are for TCC only. That would have thrown a P0741 code.

Talked to Mike L this morning. He said it sounded like an internal part. press. sensor manifold (might have exact name wrong). So, this one's going back under waranty. and I'm lookin for a good core to build into an SCIV or equal/greater value. and when I get a fresh replacement for this one, it will be for sale rather than install.

the core, not this one. This one will be replaced and sold to help finance one from george. no sense in building up a fresh stocker.
