I did my first oil change on my own at 33,000 miles and look at what I found this is what a 100$ oil change gets you at a dealership. Also it has only ever been to this one dealership for every maintenance. Sorry the picture is bad, but if you can;t see the oil drain plug is completely stripped and they somehow made it jagged. I had to take a file and file it down to a 5/8ths nut luckily it worked.....:(:( Now I only wonder what else the fuc*ed up

when I was first getting into trucks I had a quick lube change out my differential fluid and they filled it with motor oil. I would have never known but I mentioned something to a guy that said typically quick lubes dont carry the synthetic oil that goes in the diff. we checked it and it was deffinatly not. quick lube payed about $500 bill from dealership to fix it....nice huh?

It is only suppose to be hand tight. When I took off mine I literally had to destroy the oil filter to get it off.

A friend of my Dad';s works at the dealership and his quote was "They guys here a fucking idiots with not a clue how to work on diesel's" that was all I needed to hear:eek: Sorry for the swearing but it was a quote :D

That sucks

My dad taught me how to change oil when I was 14, I love doing things on my own, but hey. Then I can only blame myself haha

Righty tighty lefty loosey.... hmmmmm... Go change the oil in his truck worm......... Nick, you better check the oil to make sure it wasn't filled with transmission fluid. That sucks. You may want to hang the right socket off your truck down there for your next oil change. Insurance for the next time.

hmm, fumoto valve
No need for wrenches:D

Sorry to hear that Nick

Thats what I was thinking... This is shitty but at the same time, its a good opportunity to put a Fumoto valve in there. :D

And yeah, I change my own except once when a friend ran a special at his big rig shop. I know him, he has a Duramax himself, so I let him do it. Too good of a deal - I could just barely do it for less and I didn't even have to get dirty. :D

the stealer by us did an oil change on my friends new lbz and must of used an half inch impact to tighten the drain plug because thats what we had to use to get it back out. Thank goodness mine is to old for a dealer anymore!!
