The scanner and software are probably pocket change compared to the Dimension modeling machine..:)

we had one of those "printers" in our ME lab in college. Pretty cool piece of equipment. Don't know if they had the scanning/modeling equipment though.


Its neat stuff for sure!

WOW! Absolutely amazing, no matter the cost.

To "print" a working tool (the wrench) or complex machine (the engine) without anything being cut or molded separately is insane!

Some neat stuff. But remember how long did it take nature to do that? Point, I wouldnt be the first in line for a man made heart.

wasn't there already a man-made heart used in a patient? Think it might have even been done in KY. IIRC, he is no longer with us. Prolonged his tenure a few more years though IIRC.

I'll see if I can dig it up.
