Help: This frecking sucks

I know i want a 03- 06 duramax. I would really rather have a lly rather then a lb7 because of injectior problems. My biggest problem is I want a 6 speed but everyone is telling me not to get a zf6 duramax. I plan to keep the truck for a couple years then trade it in. By then if im tired of shifting gears i will get a allison equiment duramax. I pull very heavy loads. I drive a 96 12va 5 speed on occanison and love shifting gears. I want speed but i want durabilty also. I will be drag racing and sled pulling this truck. What should i get??


Auto or Manual? I wish i had the money to by one of each.


Ps this truck will also be pulling snowflake to and from events.

i know that for pulling the zf has a tooo fast reverse gear hard to back up a heavy trailer if only there was an easy way for 2 lo push button

I think in the long run you'll be happier with an auto....

i have had and ally and now have a zf6 liked the ally but i love my zf6 no problems backing up a trailer here but thats what i get paid to do everyday the big dual disk clutchs can get alittly jumpy but how hard is it to stop and push the lever into low to each his own if you want one i would say get it and dont worry about want everyone has to say its your truck not theirs

You can't have reliabilty and drag race and sled pull. It aint gonna happen.

What should i get??

Ps this truck will also be pulling snowflake to and from events.

Then leave the new truck stock, and be happy that it get's your toy from point A-B w/o problems.
