Hey everyone I’m new to duramaxs had doges my whole life. Just got a 2016 3500 with projector headlights. They are a little dim when driving at night so I bought A set of AUX beam LED bulbs. Was wondering if it would be smart to use them since the Silverado has a cap that goes over the bulb which will block and prevent airflow for the fan on the LED bulb. I don’t want to cause a fire or have the bulbs overheat.

If your talking about a chevy then just leave the led bulb out, I've tried to make several fit behind the dust cover and so far they won't. See if it'll even fit.
On top of that, the leds I tried did some funky shit with turning off and on..wouldnt stay on at night, one side would just turn off for no reason. Took several minutes on several occasions t get them to stay on when leaving a lit up parking lot at night.
If they have an internal fan, I could hear one of the bulbs I tried vibrate the hood so bad you could hear it in the cab.
And last if you decide to use them without the dust cover you'll get a coat of dust all over the projector and housing..like I did.
Good luck:thumb:

Yeah I’m talking about the Chevy. That sounds like a word of trouble I’m not looking to get into. Is there any other options that you know of?

TX of course
They sell led lights with a flexible heatsink strips that might work over the big alum housings.
