Nostalgia Trivia:
In 1979 Honda Racing decided it could whip the 2-Stroke Grand Prix bikes with a 4-stroke, which at the time was laughable.
Since they were limited to 4 cylinders, Honda questioned why pistons must be round, and made the pistons oval instead.
V-4 engine, with 8 valves per cylinder, the 4-stroke 500cc freak show could make 135HP at 20,000 rpm:

But while the engine could make competitive HP, poor reliability and poor handling retired the design.
Honda made a 750cc version for street use, and it is about the most expensive modern collector's bike. Only 300 were made.
