Im looking at getting a dmax. and getting rid of the 6.7 cummins. How are the LLY comapared to the LBZ? Trans wise. Looking for a very fast daily driver and a very power tow rig. Ive heard that the LLY 5sp. is stronger than the LBZ. Any imput would really help.

I'm thinking the LBZ trans is better. What's wrong with the 6.7?

LBZ 6 speed is a better tranny. GM made enhancements to the internals that help but not enough for what most of do with them and the 6th gear is nice to keep rpms lower on the highway

At this point the 6.7 trans will never hold 500 hp. Shafts are like pencils plus other major issues. This trans has become a nightmare for owners. Dealers are calling all failures abuse. Suncoast already has a 48RE retro convertion built.

This sucks. I dont understand Dodge at all, they have a decent trans in the 4500s but dont want to put it in the smaller trucks. They are Morons:mad:

Thats why I want to get rid of it. I want a low 13 high 12 second reliable street truck. That isnt all modded out. I love the Dodge and the Cummins. The trans is the only thing that a dont really like. I love the tunabilty of the GM's with efilive! On my 6.7 I have a Edge juice w Att. with the hot unlock and a cold air intake and a 4" TBE. and thats it. It will run a 14.7@98 mph. My MPH seems ok with these mods just my ET is weak . 4wheel launch not heavly boosted(dont want to break stock trans). But I feel thats the limit on the trans. After talking with Mike L. about my truck last week I feel if im going to have a low 13 second truck I must get a Dmax!

and you know it's still going to take a transmission build to do that reliably, correct?

FWIW, I love my D/A truck. :D

yeah im aware of that I just dont want to spend the money on my trans. and have it be so limited. where I can built a Ally. and have it much stronger. mybe im wrong and my truck with clutchs and a converter and some valve work will do what i want. what do you think Mike L. I dont go to the track. I just like to have something when someone next to me wants to play. And pull my 30ft. snowmobile trailer up the mountains with some authority as well as my boat.

Why is my mph so high but my times so low? I have good tracton out of the hole.

I dont know why everyone says the allison is so expensive to build? Itt is cheap compared to dodges. The hard parts are way overbuilt and will take a lot more than a dodge trans will on stock hard parts. Billet hard parts are very expensive...

The stock trans hard parts will probably outlast the stock duramax hard parts.
