Think I screwed up. Gouged the head. Am I screwed?

Hey guys, I was putting the head back on today and gouged it pretty good. Felt sick to my stomach when I saw it. It's not in a sealant area, it's where the piston hole is. Already took it to the machinist when I first took them off, so I'm afraid there won't be anything left for him to take it down further (I could be wrong, he took .005 off the first go around). Is it safe to smooth out and run, or Is there anything I can do or am I completely screwed?

If that is inside the combustion chamber, it will be fine. However, that looks like it is right near the area where the headgasket needs to seal it. Throw a headgasket on and see if it is going to be inside or outside the combustion area.

Sorry man, but that doesn't look good :(

Thanks for taking a look guys. I've decide to just smooth out the edges and run it. After lining the gasket up on the head, it appears to be completely in the combustion chamber rather than in a seal point.

It's a roll of the dice, but I'm going to give it a shot! Wish me luck.
