I think I need to work on tuning my converter lockup on my truck. I have no idea how to go about this so any help is greatly appreciated.
here is the scenario with my truck:
in any gear under 5th, I assuming the converter is unlocked, if I step down on the skinny pedal, the charger will light great, build boost, BUT, I'm only making max boost of like 35-38 psi. and the charger will bounce back and forth at 38 psi thru the gears. Sounds like I hit a rev limiter on the turbo lol. If I mash the gas in fifth I can easily spin the boost gauge past 40, closer to 50 psi. I had heard that this was because with the converter unlocked, there isn't enough load on the turbo?
Truck has always done this with the 366 and now with the 466.
I'm thinking, and I may be totally wrong here so someone correct me. if I adjust my trans tuning so I can get the converter to lock much lower that should solve this, correct?
What tables in a 6 speed do I need to adjust?
