Well driving home from the GF's last night and the vibration suddenly got bad and stayed bad, I played with the throttle a little and could feel something moving pretty good so I started to baby it to get her home. Well as I slowed down for a stop light all hell broke loose! Ive never heard such nasty grinding, squeeling and banging sounds! haha By the time I got it off the road it locked up solid and wouldnt even move! Was able to pull the axles and driveshaft and get it home though. Once I get the new one in I'll tear the old one apart and post pics of the carnage!

was wondering the same thing here, I had a viberation in my 06 and it ended up being the carrier bearing in the drive line, The rear differental was feeling a little warm but not hot and I was wondering if it was something else going on.

Im slow man  it snowed last night and Im doing all of it in the driveway so Im not liking it out there! It seems like the pinion bearing might have gone and it got sloppy enough to let it skip teeth and then grenade itself

Thanks for the info, I was thinking I might pull a sample of my grease and get it checked out for shavings,or any unwanted material. I am still concerned about the differental,s warmness. The temp was in the 30's and I was driving on wet roads with a little rainfall but the differental was still warm and dry, but not hot.
