Ok so the funds are present at this time in my life...... So instead of new wheels I want a new turbo.. BUT i have no idea what charger size brand blah blah blah i want.. Im still on stock trans but i have a brand new one out of the truck ill get build before the turbo goes on.. Lift pumps installed race valves in.
Efi live will be ordered monday.. SO somebody please help me on this.
I know with a bigger charger my engine wont last for too long but o well.
Please give me brand makes and such guys. This is for an 06 lly..
Im looking to break mid to low 12's. On stock internals if possible.
I know i dont need a bigger charger to do so but i want one so o well..
I plan on doing twins later to atleast ill have a good lil turbo.

Thanks
Tyler

Id love to save up a little more for twins but i dont wanna build my motor just yet.
And the tranny is going to be built before the turbo goes on. The tranny funds and turbo funds are seperate.

I am no expert but from what I have read and researched on turbos on stock internals..... I feel twins are best for stock due to egt reduction. Dont press charges on me for this statement it is just my opinion on the topic

Twins are easier like stated on the engine due to lower egts and they are more effcient<---spelling might not be right. Not only that you retain the towing capabilities like a stock charger truck but with better egts and power. Running mid 12's on the stock charger is very possible. After your trans is done your options are whatever you can afford. Just don't fall into the hype with dyno numbers with turbos as a selling point and look at what people run with the combos your interested in.

I would go with a HTT kit or maybe do a DIY hombrew kit with a S366 and a bullseye pedistal. Those turbos with your weight should put you that low in the 1/4. Those turbos also allow you to be able to use MPI's big twin kit in the future if you want to.

Twins are not the end all be all turbo like E. Carter said... i'd listen to Travis and go with an HTT 66mm turbo. a 4094 with some extra fuel will put you in the 11's hands down.

i disagree nothing short of a gt 42 has ran as fast as twins on stock cp3 trucks and they are only a grand more than a 4094 with install kit . 4094 has not broke out of 12's with stock cp3

I love the 4094R, I believe it is the best all around charger for doing everything but it is a little pricy:(

x2 it is a great charger . and i dont think anone can disagree the S300's win the bang for the buck award every time .

I love my 4094r. You can find a kit used for pretty inexpensive. Great all around turbo and it is very possible to get in the 11's with. Twins are amazing too.

Ok so i've decided on what im going to do.. Im gonna run with a big single.
But im going to built it all myself.. ...... Im ordering a bullseye pedestal tomorrow. And im debating between a s472 91mm inducder 1.32 a/r 96 trim??
What do u guys think to big to laggy ?? or should i go with a s376 1.25a/r 79 trim 71.8 ind 101.9 exd?? Give me youll's thought. I have a guy thats gonna build me up pipes and a downpipe and new intercooler piping.. I know i dont need the ic piping but im gonna get rid of all my egr crap. But other then the pedestal and downpipe what else am i going to need to run one of these turbos ???

Thanks

i wouldnt go anything over a 1.10 AR ( even a 1.10 is laggy ) and anything over a 72 mm compressor . you really need to talk with a good turbo guy , and i would really think about going to big the turbo's you mentioned are for 800 hp motors ? is your motor built ? and are you going to have dual cp3's ? going big is good if its needed but why have a laggy POS if you need no were near that much air . i have rode in/driven big turbo trucks.............. and trust me think long and hard........ if i was going big single i would go GT42 or s472 with a tight A/R . just trying to help you from making a mistake .

Im gonna go ahead and order the pedestal because i know im gonna need that.
But i dont plan on runing 11's on my stock motor lol.
Everyones advice is very much appreciated..

Thanks

keep in mind the turbo doesnt set the hp ................ the hp dictates what turbo is needed to support that # .
i have a good friend of mine you can call i will pm you the # tell him i sent you to him , even if you dont buy from him he will get you on the right track . and if you choose Garrett then Dan @ ppe would be a good guy to chat with .

you need to take these peoples advise, build your transmission first, and no larger than 1.10 AR is good guidelines. IMO id either look into MPI twins or a cheetah. HTT can get you to 11s and is economical and can be used to tow.
