Well for those of you that missed it, the original Batmobile just sold for 4.2 million on Barrett-Jackson auction. Old George Barris even offered the Batman jacket off his back.

I've seen some Carroll Shelby Cobra's go for high dollar but I've never watched another car jump figures that quick before.

I am so sick of the Shelby name after watching that auction for two nights.

As for the Batmobile, the guy said his mind was made up and he'd been following the car for 15 years waiting for it to go up for sale. George Barris was funny.

Did anyone catch the deal on a genuine '69 COPO Camaro?

It was a Green on Green 4spd car, Josh.

In my opinion there wasn't a much nicer example of a COPO Camaro than that car. It went for $105K when DZ Z/28's were going for $110K. Granted the high priced Z's; one was four-wheel disc, and the other was cross-ram, but I still didn't think that warranted the low price on the COPO. The Z's were on the money... the COPO was well bought.

Tom, they said last night, and I always heard, the Batmobile was based on a Lincoln.

If I remember correctly the Monkeymobile was based on a '66-'67 GTO... which I think is blasphemy.

I'm at 360 on fantasy bid points lol GT500!!! There is not one Damn reason 4.2 mil should go towards any vehicle and that's coming from a die hard car enthusiast. It's madness! Dude said it was going in his house haha. That chick he was with was pretty top heavy ;)

I meant was it an L72 9561 COPO or a ZL1 9560 COPO?

A ZL1 COPO Camaro is my dream car.

They rank right up there for me as well. I only remember seeing one ZL1 cross the block at Barrett-Jackson and that was a few years ago. If I remember correctly it was Reggie Jackson's car, and I do remember it never reached the reserve.

A '70 Buick GSX Stage One 4spd would be another car I'd like to have. I couldn't pass up a '71 Hemi 'Cuda 4spd either.

They had a Dickie Harrell built '69 427 Camaro SS (originally a 375hp 396 car sent to Harrell with full documentation and original Harrell motor and original "stinger" hood) cross the block this year. It went for right around $220K to Rick Hendrick.

My dream car is a 69 Yenko Chevelle, Camaro, or Nova. In perfect condition they will bring in a million dollars
