So a good buddy of mine is wanting me to flash in the updated programming in his dads LMM for the BCM. guess it has some intermittent issues that supposably the new calibration takes care of. He knows i have a tech 2 hence why he asked.

Question is, can i as a normal joe even get to that stuff if i paid for a days use on the TIS web site? i dont want to have him fork over 55 buck (or what ever it is for a days use where i can get the calibration) only to find we cant do it and its a dealership only type thing. I just got this thing not long ago mainly for the fact i could flash my abs module for the tire size i run, gears and to diag any trans issues should any arise.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but you'd need mdi for that right? Like you'd use the tis2 software with the mdi box connected to your laptop to flash the update

You can use the TechII with the candi module but you need the RS-232 cable or whatever it's called to run the update either through pass-through or Tech II stand alone. But if you have the cable and access to TIS 2 Web then you should be able to do it.

I'm not sure what it costs to sign up for TIS but I know at the dealership here the customer only pays $79 if you request module programming only (no diag).

ill check and see if i have the cable. i believe so but not 100%. as far as access to TIS 2 WEB, it would be just what you can bring up via the web. i assume option 3 would be what im looking for? looks to be what i need. Thanks Dustin!

Option 3 appears to be the way to go. I've never purchased anything through that website though.

And don't make me blush Damian  Figured I'd help as much as I can because as of Friday I have two weeks left at the dealership :thumb:

I'm leaving and going to an independent shop here in Loveland, CO. They specialize in light duty diesels but work on every make. They also have a loaded dyno in house for emissions/hp runs. The shop sounds amazing and they take care of their employees and customers. :)

thats awesome! sounds like you will be much happier there.

dustin, is there any way you could grab a tech 2 really quick and see what the latest update version is? curious to see how far behind mine is
