I noticed some wires running by the power steering pulley that were slightly frayed. One appears to be a ground that runs down to the drivers side of the block. The other wires are purple and gray/white. Does anyone know what these three wires are exactly?image.jpg

Those appear to be the starter wire and a couple of the grounds that run to the front of the block. Purple for the most part in GM wiring is starter or start circuit, and the wire for the starter signal runs down and around back to the starter.

they are not TCM wires.

Purple is the start signal wire to the starter (give power to the solenoid when you hit the key), one black is ECM ground that goes to the ground lug on the pass side of the engine, other black is ground (not sure for what) that connects to the driverside ground lug at the engine.

i became very familiar with those wires recently lol
