Is there any one Allison 5 speed tune that will keep the OD lockout that seems to shift better then another. I use the 01 OS but it doesn't work wit the OD cancel or with my tap shifter so to drop a gear it drops two which isn't going to work for me anymore. the 05 OS shifts like crap between 3-4. anyone have some input on this? thanks.

I tried an 03 os that was ok, ended up going back to my 05 os and love it. I've never experienced any of these shifting issues people mention with the 05 os. It has always shifted perfect in my truck.

I really like the 01 OS for how quick it makes a downshift it is really quick. flat foot the throttle and its in 4th almost instantly. and the upshifts are quick too which I have made the 05 OS do that but there is not tables for downshift timing, just upshift. shave some Us off those and it will make quicker upshifts but the downshift in my 05 OS are stupid especially the 5th to 4th too 3rd. if its rolling 45-50 and I goto stand in it its like this, Smoke....smoke 1-1000, 2-1000 then its in 4th then 1-1000, 2-1000 then its in 3 gear. who knows maybe something is wrong but if I run the 01 OS the downshift is almost immediate so I doubt there is any mechanical issue. I will try to take a video and show what it does. and then with it shift from 3 to 4 it doesn't just click the shift of it bucks really bad. feels like it shifts twice lol.

Playing with all that shift timing sounds dangerous. Allison can't skip gears when down shifting either. My 5-4-3 down shift is fast, I can be cruising 50 - 55 mph and mash it, it will drop to 4th, then 3rd all within maybe 1 second.

If you're have shifting issues, this may be a trans issue and not tuning.

Get a lockup box setup for an 01, and then wire in the external OD lockout. My 01 TCM has an OD LO in it that works just fine, it just doesn't work through the tow/haul button.

I have a fleece Lockup box in it now and the fleece tap shifter. what's the procedure for wiring up the OD LO?

yeah it won't skip gears I started small with the shift timing and it made it better it will click off the shift faster. I'll load a video and you will hear how long it took to go from 4th to 5th. pretty sure I could shift a manual faster then that lol.

Sounds like it not only needs some serious proper defuel tuning, but tuning on the MAF limited fuel injection quantity table too. Timing sounds a little nasty too, when is the pilot set to shut off?

You have ECM tuning issues, IMO......not trans/TCM tuning issues.........

Trans wasn't tuned in there other then WOT shift point. I won't mention the tuners name (lol no its not me and I'm not saying I can do better) this thing is stupid loud also due to single turbo and no muffler with profab manifolds, driving it with the windows up it doesn't sound like it has timing rattle anywhere it does get louder when pilot is shut off at 2200. that video was next to a rock wall with the pass side window down also. timing after pilot is at 10.8 at 3000rpm and 16.8 at 3800 rpm.
