TCM Tune Downshift

I want my transmission to downshift a little earlier. Do I just have to adjust the part throttle downshifts in the tcm tune? Tables: 5005 - 5009

Part throttle downshift is what you word adjust. Why would you want that? It generally makes for harsher downshifts.

I want it because we have alot of hills where I live. When im driving up a hill and accelerate the truck smokes out all the cars behind me before it eventually downshifts. The t/h mode works alot better on those hills, but I wanted to make the canges in the regular tune, so I dont have to use the t/h or manual downshift for that purpose anymore.

Maybe try setting the converter to unlock earlier, without shifting. May help get on top of the turbos a little easier. Just a suggestion :thumb:

If you don't fuel so heavy in the lower throttle %'s you can get a nice clean downshift without chugging a bunch of smoke :thumb:
