Tccm burning out

Truck slams into 4 low, no response on dash 4x4 buttons. Replaced tccm. Problem cured. Drive 15 miles, first stop slams into 4 low, same symptons on dash. Replaced again. Drive same, same reaction, stuck in 4 low dead butons on dash now smells like wires melting. These tccm's are not cheap.

Any ideas.

Instead of having just the c0308 code i now have p0500, p1875, u1024, u1016, u1041, u1096. The truck sat for two years so maybe i should just pull drivetrain crush this pos!

Maybe you had a rodent hotel going and some wires chewed?

you've got a whole host of codes, sure seems like a short. Any signs of rodents in the cab?
might want to sweep the engine bay and look for signs of munched wires... Although crushing it sounds like fun...
