Taxes & Urine Tests

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me.

I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit.

In order to get that paycheck I am required to pass a random urine
test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to
people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check,
because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their
feet.

I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on
their butt & do drugs on my tax money.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to
pass a urine test to get a public assistance check.

If you agree, pass this thought along.......

For sure, somebody would cry foul, we're violating their rights if they were required to pass the urine test.

Glad I don't have to do the old piss test anymore. I wonder how many people are unemployed because they can't pass one??

While I was in the oil field, I was able to make money by selling a bottle of " sure pass ". Now that I think of it, I was probably putting myself in danger by doing so. Hindsight.

IMO, I give a $%#* what you do on your personal time as long as you show up to work in a good frame of mind and ready to work. If you smoke a lefty to help you go to sleep, then fine. If you smoke crack on your days off-that's your choice. If you feel the need to get loser pissed and wake up in Atlantic City in bed full of asian transvestites-then best of luck to ya! But when your on the clock, you better be ready to go-and your extra curricular activities better not interfere with your ability to work and work safely.

Just my two cents.

And as long as you work very hard, Dale will give ya 20 minutes every hour to check in at McRats Forum :p

I let my boys go home early every day if everything is done and they didn't piss me off somehow - with pay!!

If I have to work Larry, it means I'm not doing my job well enough!!

Cant say that I would pass one right now, but I dont collect any welfare checks either!

I agree with LBZ, what people do on their own time is their business, but they better be able to work when they are supposed to be. I do not think any of us should be supporting someone's habit that cannot support it themselves. Think I can get Uncle Sam to fix my broken tranny for me? :D

And no, I dont smoke crack on the weekends! :D

I guess I sorta feel the same. What ever it takes to get through the day?

I can tell you one thing that is for sure. Working in conditions such as those in the oil field, drilling rig to be exact, things happen that can be contributed to laziness or laziness combined with the effects of drugs. How many of you have had to step up on a rig floor after the crew or a crew member rigged the derrick? That crew had just been high or came down from being high ( not because of being in the derrick :D ). We would show for tower and start surface drilling with bolts, nuts, clips, PINS and other essential derrick components falling from the derrick. Just the component hitting a person from that height can be fatal. These items would fall because of the lack of follow through and concern for others safety as well as folks just not remembering what they had done or not done, drugs being part of this affect. What makes this bad is these items that are meant to keep us safe are those very items that are given the least attention and safety measures. I'm not saying these things wouldn't happen if drugs were not part of the equation, but what I am saying is the drug affects are a huge part of our work related accidents. What I meant by " selling a bottle of sure pass " was that I was compounding the problem by allowing those to pass using my specimen. What helps a person get through the day and show up the next can be anything, but when it effects another or causes loss, that is a problem. So, if these folks can do their business and pay for it at no cost to another, show up on time and sober with 0 effect from that business, I'm all for what it takes.
