I had to replace my cluster, got one from PPE, now my tach reads 300 rpms higher than they are...........they offered to re-calibrate it, but since I need the truck everyday, I cant afford to pull it out and send it in :(

It can be fixed. I repair them as well as some others. Mainly I just do them for a few local used dealerships in my area. But Larry yours sounds like the needle was not put back in the right spot when replaced. Does it read 300 over all the way through the RPM range?

I was going to suggest that as I recall when I swapped IC Faces I took a picture of needle position for re installation. If that is the case would the Tach Needle be sitting up higher when it's just keyed up?

I know my Tach Needle just raises off the pin at key up. Not quite half way to 0.

So if (I assume) his Tach Needle just rises a bit when keyed up its probably more than a adjustment. One thing is for certain be careful when pulling off the Needle they bend easy.

I have the little tool that came with my new face. I don't use the IC that has that Face I replaced. Not sure I ant to sell it. Maybe for the right price. :D

it sits on zero when keyed on, once idling it reads right at 1000 rpms, should be 720 rpms, at 70 mph it is still readiong +/- 300 rpms higher than efi scan tool shows. Efi I assume is reading right.
