holy moly this virus that looks like a fake virus scan tool locked up my lap top.
anyone else had to deal with this one yet? it came out of nowhere for me. used the computer this afternoon then 4 hours later bang. couldnt open any programs at all.

in an effort to save someone else alot of time... malwarebytes can remove the problem.

Yeah i get that every now and then. I usually turn the internet off then open task manager and exit it. It hasn't caused any problems yet though

Had it on my laptop about a week ago and yeah i was freaked out also. I got on Youtube and found a video that explained how to get rid of it. All is good now and nothing is missing.

I have not had a "virus" per say on any of my computers for years not sure how people get them now days. Unless someone is hacking your computer there is no reason to get one. I know it can happen but I guess I am lucky or something.

Kinda off topic, but is something called "toast" a virus? Everynow and then I will open task manager and its there running for a second then dissapears like its hiding??

unfortunately I couldnt open anything at all or I would have tried to open the task manager. I had to go into safe mode and manually delete some files then I was able to start normally and get on the internet and DL malwarebytes and fix it.
i'm not sure about toast. I have heard of that before but I dont recall if it is a virus or not. I havent seen that in a long time.

I just got one on my laptop, sounds similar to what you have...I think its called memory fixer? Won't let me do anything but turn it on and off.

Its about to get buckshot to the screen so it has a reason to be broke

lol buck shot will definately give it a reason to be broken... when in doubt put a hole in it then its DEFINATELY broken. lol
