Ok so I tried this with my last truck and never followed through with it so I am hoping to change that this time around.

The truck is a 2006 CCSB. I picked it up with 124k miles. It's fully loaded with sunroof and bone stock.

The truck is in need of some tlc so this will start off with more cosmetic fixes. The rockers need replacing and it's going to get new paint.

So that's how I picked it up.
First off I put on a 5" exhaust and picked up one of these from ATP.

Then I got some tires of craigslist for cheap. Went from 285/70/17 to 265/70/17. I wasn't happy with the 33s and am glad I stepped it down for now. I'll post pictures of the tires later.

Today I decided to start shaving the old girl. So this happened.

Tomorrow this is happening.

.

That's it so far but more will certainly come.

Parts I have sitting around to be installed.
-airdog 2 165
-egr delete
-lb7 up pipe
-mbrp Downpipe
-edge insight cts
-hids
-Bilstein steering stabilizer
-transfer case brace
-pump rub kit
-2" drop shackles
-sleeves

All that on top of rockers and paint should keep me busy!

Got it all taken off and was about to wax it and it started to rain... Guess the wax will wait to another day. I'm pretty happy with out it turned out and would highly recommend someone pick up the finishing wheel for this job. It made quick work of the mess.

Oh and I'm trading my car for the tool box in that last picture :drink

Those put up way more of a fight than I was expecting! The bolts had seized into the sleeves and I had to press the entire bushing out and replace it with new ones. It was a huge PITA.

The things we do for our trucks..

Got the bed back on it

Then we taped it all off

And sprayed it with this which I highly recommend. It went on really easy with minimal overspray.

And after all this when I pulled out of the garage a brake line blew. They were pretty bad and I knew it but I hadn't gotten around to replacing them yet. So this is how I had to get home...

There's more to come and the timeline may be a little off. I copied it from another thread. I'll clean it up next time I'm on my computer.

That or you're the world's fastest mechanic :woott:

Looking good! Keep us posted.

Haha far from it. I've got big plans for it but I just got engaged so I need to start saving my money for that.

On second thoughts I should probably spend it before she gets her half...

Why do I keep doing this?

Anytime you want to come to Michigan and replace a pair of CC rockers, you just let me know. :hehe:

Nice work. :thumb:

Haha never again do I want to do that! It's such a time consuming process. I understand why shops charge so much now. I'm glad I did it myself though because I completely cleaned prepped and por15'd the inner rocker just for piece of mind.

One of my rockers was flaking down pretty bad and I had a hole in a cab corner. It's a lot of work bringing these vehicles back once they've been neglected but by the time I'm done I hope to have a pretty clean truck that should last me awhile.
