my trans has been lingerin around 200.. jus wanderin if this is typical if i need to look into trans cooler

that is fairly common... I'd give Mike L. a call tomorrow to check on the 6 speed coolers:D:thumb:

Mine runs in the 150 to 190 area. Just up to how hot it is outside that day. Also Dex 3 on fluid.

Check your fluid level. It should be a 1/4" below full when warm...

You bought the trans used, right? Who did the build? Was it a true SC-IV kit or a "Stage 4" kit sold by someone on DF?

200F is typically normal in stop and go. Not to worry. New coolers should be here in July or sooner.

what mike said. Mike was tellin me when he was buildin my trans that the guys that tow all day long in those medium duty chevys duramax/allisons will see 230* day in and day out and they have 200,000+ miles on stock allisons. If they are hittin that and livin, im sure ours will be fine :D

Unless you have a friend at one of the local stealerships, go to Covington Diesel off of Rutledge Pike to get your trans spin on filter. I was able to buy three from them for the same price I could have bought one from the stealership.
