I was going to install a fass 150 on my 15 lml, and I've been hearing different things on what's all needed. Do I need to install a sump or draw straw in the tank, or just run off the stock pick up?

Stock pickup. I have a 10 mm stroker pump and other day my air dog had blown a fuse and I didn't know it and still made 29k on my big tune

Pump is louder without a sump/draw straw. Just installed one on a friend's 2013 and he commented on how loud the pump was (still has factory exhaust). Called fass and they said there is more restriction in the factory lml pickup and that installing a sump would make it quieter.
So i take it as the pump has to work harder to pull through the factory setup and the pump will wear out faster

Sump is the way. I also am a big believer in the Beans Diesel sump. No leaks no mess. One hole to drill (hole saw provided) and one bolt to torque everything down.

I've been wanting to try the Bean's sump. Seems everyone likes it. We install a sump with every 15+. We've had trucks run much worse with a lift pump than without if we try to use the stock pick up tube.

Rule of thumb in hydraulics, the suction side is should be larger than the pressure side otherwise you will get cavitation or noise and prematurely wear out the pump.

The larger corrugated pipe is the supply and then reduced in size at the nipple (2011 truck)
