Guys im running out of options here. The 6.5 is having problems and i can not find it no where. When i fire the motor up it will run as long as u got your foot about half way on the thottle when u let your foot off the thorttle there is something that locks up and kills the motor. I changed the brandnew 250 dollar starter. Nothing i check all fly wheel bolts and everything. Can any of yall help me give me some suggestions i may have missed something

I got a new starter because some one on the diesel place told me thats what it was. It was not disengageing and was createing such a load on the motor it killed it. The pmd is brandnew i just put it on. I works good there is fuel to all injectors and even the filter. I must mention dad ran the truck out of fuel the truck sat for 5 years. I know i need injectors i no that much im just trying to figure out whats locking the motor up to kill it

If only i had the money for it i would do it. I had about 3 grand and all that went towards this motor. It will take me a little to save back up then it will get a 12 va transplant. Maybe a fund would be nice lol

Locks up and kills the motor when you let off the go pedal...

Humor me, take the belt off and fire it up...See if that fixes it....(IF it does, don't let it run long of course)

Sell to someone who doesn't know the difference between Duramax, PSD, CTD and just wants a diesel "since they are all the same aren't they?"
Cut your losses?? Just a suggestion.

Second that.

If you kept it simple, exhaust and intake you would be fine. But you complain about not having money for your LLY..... but you have 3 grand to waste on a 6.5????? Like I said get a Hyundai just fill it up and go. 3,000$ would have gotten you a transmission.

Why dont you just keep the 6.5 stock and let it be a Daily Driver, and not be beating on it like a piece of junk??? and appreciate the fact that you can reliably put the key in start and go.

I understand your doing the necessary maintenance replacement parts but when its fixed and running, dont go hey Im gonna go and race someone. Threads like these should not be in your thought process http://www.mcratracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2799
