Suggestions on Shipping engines?

Hey guys im just curious who yall are using to ship engines? Ive called ups, act so far and was quoted $2k by ups wtf..and act only does full truck loads. Trying to buy a stock engine from a guy and this will help me when i go to ship my built motor to whoever buys it. Who do ya'll use and what are yall paying? Thanks

ive used a place called forward air before to ship heads, the cost was reasonable.

I second the following above. Estes shipped me my block from Texas to Chicago for less than that but I had a forklift so that helped cut some cost.

Call all of them, certain carriers cover certain areas. What that means is, you might be quoted from one company but they will hand it over to another and will cost more than directly using the other carrier. Also, to keep the rate down build a crate and ship it class 50 or 55. Tell them it is "cast iron equipment".
