Since there are a few guys here that comprehend car audio alot better than I do I have a question for y'all. We just bought a '02 ford superduty yada yada yada. Anyways I had a ten in my Duramax and enjoyed the extra bump. So I decided to buy some subs for the Ford since I'm in it everyday. I picked up two kicker comp 12" woofers and truck boxes. And I kinda cheaped out on the amp and got a sound storm 1600w 2 channel amp. Well I had a friend of my brothers help hook it up and to our surprise the amp wouldn't work. So I robbed the amp out of my pickup just to see if would work and that we had everything wire wise hooked up right. And naturally everything is up to par. I took the sound storm amp back and they have a replacement on the way. But in the meantime I've been thinking if I could hook up the kicker comp cvr 10" along with the two twelves and if possible on the same amp. I do know the 12's are 8ohm 150w min and 300w max, and the 10 is a dual voice coil at 4 ohms and 400w min and 800w max. If I sound retarded don't feel threatened to call me one because I am when it comes to car audio.

yes you're retarded. That would be a tuning nightmare, not to mention the ohm load probably isnt stable for that crappy amp.

:D

So Cal.
That setup if wired in parallel should yield a 2.66 ohm load (series on the DVC). I would not mix sub sizes like that. Stick with the 12's in parallel with a 4 ohm bridged load.

I have a brand new ZX750.1 Kicker amp still in the box, if you think it would help, PM, I would let it go for $300 shipped. I'm just sitting on it, my system didn't work out right, (not the amps fault)

So could I hook up my other amp to the ten?

And thanks for the offer ccsblbz. But I will have to pass. I already have way to much tied up in this.

If you don't mind, give us a complete run down on the system components you want to install (amps, speakers, etc). I think this will help.

Well the amp I bought was bad and when I took it back they said it would be this week before they got a new one in. They called me today to say that the 1600w 2 channel amp was on backorder for a month. But that they had gotten in a 1600w 4 channel amp and that I could have it for nothing extra. So I ended up going by and picking it up. I then wired the 2 12s into two seperate channels and the 10 bridged on the other two channels. All I can say is that I am blown awaywith how great the sound is. Everyone that has heard it highly approves.

Good deal. Glad you got it hooked up the way you wanted it. If you get a chance some pics would also be nice.

I'll see what I can do. All I have is my iPhone so you guess what the quality of pics will be. It is basically three prefabbed truck boxes with the two 12s on the outside of the ten. I had to drill new holes in the seat brackets to move the seat forward another inch.

It sounds really good IMO. The 12s hit hard on the higher end bass. And the 10 hits really hard on all the low deep bass.
