For those that don't know, here's some info for ya: The plastic cap on top of the tailgate is 3M taped on. Even still, GM still has holes in their tailgate underneath the cap.
Now for the kick in the nuts part-most metal aftermarket caps are smaller and will not cover the holes! So, after I spent a bunch of money getting my stainless cap powder coated and all of the holes welded up, I then peeled the tore up plastic cap off and found this out.:gaybow:
Now I need to get my freshly powder coated cap bastardized with an extension piece welded on to cover the holes and then re-powder coated.
Just a heads up for those thinking of switching out the gate cap. When I get mine done I'll throw up some pics.
