Here's my stupid question. Like my name, because I "don't know"!
I have 305/55R20's on 20x9 with 0 offset and a 3" torsion bar leveler kit. Front seems to hit really hard on the smallest crack in the road. Any suggestions? Also do you suggest matching the spare to the same size or am I OK with my 17" stock spare. I also did just put some Firestone Ride-Rite airbags in rear to correct sag and help with trailer loads. Thanks for your help.

Hey buddy, I believe your issue is the offset. Stock rims are 17x8 and +12 offset(don't quote me) so with the 0 offset and a wider rim you have a wider stance now and throwing on those 305's you're gonna rub. LMM don't have a lot of clearance to begin with and will require some shaving on the bumper caps, liner and probably a fender mod if you want wider and taller.

Yes hyjackers for 3" lift but no new control arms. And no I don't have any rub now but did have to trim liner in front for rub when in sharp reverse turn.

Your upper control arms are bottoming out

Thank you, I'll have to check that out. Now if I change upper control arms, will there be more to change. So far it has seemed like a chain of events, one leading to another.

How about the spare, any suggestions.

An aftermarket control arm like Cognito will allow for 28% more down travel than your factory arm. If you are a true 3" lift with keys and shocks, I'm guessing your CV angles are pretty crazy. Without the down travel of an aftermarket arm, you are limiting yourself causing a harsh ride. Check to see if any site vendors are Cognito dealers, if not lmk.

Wheel size of your spare shouldn't matter....not like you're gonna drive 1000's of miles on it. I'd be more concerned that the overall tire height of the spare is close to what you have on the truck now.

even still, if he has truely cranked it up 3", adding cognito arms wont help much.


OP, its time you start looking for an actual lift kit that drops the diff and control arms OR you put smaller tires on and de-crank the front end to 2" or less and put cognito control arms on.

driving at it is now is only going to destroy ball joints and steering parts in short order

Totally agree with James. If you are more than 26" center of hub to top of the wheel well, you either need to crank down to 26" or less..., or invest in a 4" package. The only way to keep everything within factory specs, and keep a nice ride would be go 4".
