Well got up this morning to go grab some breakfast and truck was stuck in park. Turned the wheel all the way to lock and was able to put in gear the next time I put in park took a few minutes to get back Into gear by hitting the top of the steering wheel as well as the time after that. So after I got back to the house backed up to the garage door and brake lights work out truck back into park and I was able to put right into gear.. the last time this happened it only happened once a few weeks back so the problem is intermittent . Looking for some advice as whether this could be a brake switch problem or Ect.

Not a tranny problem, it is part of the steering column. I don't remember the part but it has to do with your gear selector shifter. Just had mine fixed. Used a junk yard part because the dealer part includes more than you need and it cost at about 300 bucks.

It is probably the electric selenoid or linkage that prevents a child from being able to move the shifter unless the brake pedal is depressed.
