Just like the title says. I offered to help a friend.
2015, I think it's a 3500 srw.
His countdown has progressed to 4mph.
He used my V2, and ordered tune.
He swapped out the hard parts, I was just supposed to show up and flash it. I don't do this very often, didn't figure it would be an issue (silly me). In the past I'd watch a quick YouTube vid. ATP had one that was very helpful. Those all apparently have been removed from YouTube.
I reached out to a couple people, no responses.
So I try to flash it from memory.
Fresh install of EFI Live on my laptop.. Updated the firmware in my V2
When I instruct EFI Live to read his controllers, it comes back with E86B and T87. E86B has a red X through it. I assumed the red X was because the VIN license wasn't applied. Controller shows one available. But nothing I do will associate it to this truck.
Tune file exists in three places on my laptop. two folders, and the email. If opened from one of the folders, when viewing the tune in the file explorer of EFI Live, the controller shows T87. If opened from the email, it shows E86B.
I'm am stuck and at a loss. I know it's probably doing wrong.
Anyone ever encounter this?
