I went to Danville Performance yesterday and stripped the engine down with Mark and Matt. The engine has two seasons on it. I have close to 200 quarter mile passes on it and about 4000 miles of hard street use. I ran Fingers cast pistons, SoCal stg.1 heads and a 3388 regular fire cam. The truck dyno'ed 760rwhp on street tune, 960rwhp on small race tune and 1106rwhp on big race tune. It engine has had the snot kicked out of it. Between spinning the tires on the street and breaking trans shafts and drive shafts I have seen data logs all the way up to 5600rpm. I have left the trans out of od on about 12 runs and was going through the traps at 4550rpm.
On engine tare down they were surprised to see how clean everything was. I run royal purple 15-40 syn. and change it about every 15 run. We found the crank where the #2 bearing rides was starting to flak. Mark says its from sudden rpm drop and the oil pump is not supplying enough oil. He said they have been seeing it a lot.
My new build will have a SoCal 9100 alt. fire cam and a set of Wagler heads.
