LMM: Strange

I have a 09 GMC and it seems to have a mind of its own , what I mean is Its cold here about 15 degrees here last night and the night before. anyway I make sure when I shut off the truck at night I leave the heater on full blast so the next morning when I remote start it I want it to start warming right away, also have plugged in overnight. but when I go out to check it, or to go the heater is not running but the seat heaters are on which I did not turn the seat warmers on the night before??? Then other times it seems to work the way I want it to but it has not been that cold i the past.. It almost seems like the truck has a sensor built in to determine how cold it is and maybe telling the heater fans not to come on until it reaches a certin temp so it does not sit there and blow cold air ..Make sense or is this possible?? Thanks

If it has remotes start and the digital controls for the A/C and Heat it does it automatically, at below a certain temperature it will turn on the defrost and seat warmers

the heater should come on w/ the seats automatically. idk y yours isnt doin it

It will not turn on the heat till the engine temp is up. Then it will turn on.

thats the way auto climate control in EVERY vehicle works...it monitors engine coolant temp and wont turn on the "heat" until the coolant temp is at least 110* or so...its pointless to run the blower/fan when the coolant temp is below that point...because its not gonna do anything!!!!!!!!!

If the heater was to kick on it would be pull heat out of the engine through the heater core. Making it take that much longer to heat up.

You want to turn on your elevated idle in those temps......... Look up elevated idle in your owner's manual........
