Scored this set up from a friend of mine with the hopes of one day putting it on a ratrod. Anyone ever seen this setup before? Or have any info. Thx

Yes I have seen this setup on an iron duke. It's a 4 cylinder that used a single small block Chevy head.

I THINK its an old banks turbo kit from the 80's... You would use the stock exhaust manifold on drivers side, then run a crossover pipe to the custom Mani on passenger side. There were valves in that adapter so when under vacuum in the intake manifold the carb air/fuel would bypass the turbo, then when stomped on the valves would shut and air was directed to the turbo. They did this for slow speed drivability, otherwise fuel would pool up in the compressor housing.

You can see the bypass valves in the third pic, manifold crossover pipe in 4th pic. $.02

Cool. I know nothing about the turbo or condition. Haven't pulled anything apart yet. My thoughts were to bolt this onto a small block chevy & install it into some rust bucket without a hood of course. Wouldn't want to hide this beauty :)
