also, are there any destinctive and UNIQUE characteristics to the truck that can be spotted? For instance: a paint chip somewhere? I torn seat? a specific looking scratch somewhere? a dent? anything...

onstar wont and cant track it if your account is not active i tried and even talked to supervisors. the pic in my forum is pretty accurate besides the topper and it now has procomp muds with the wheels you see. also i put on smoked marker lights on top. as far as distinctive marks there is a scratch in driver rear fender above tire that has been poorly repaired with touchup. also my airbag access valves are in the license plate. as far as insurance they are only going to cover worth of truck none of my extras will be covered. and let me tell you there are alot of extras. about 15000 so i am screwed.. it was stolen at a gas station in Macedonia, OHIO

I think all gas stations have video camaras now, dont they? You know, to catch those gas-n-go's? I'm sure you tried that already though.....

yeah it is on video but ya cant track someone down usually by video description also we all know they wont use all the csi tactics for a stolen vehicle. i dont know i just hope it is found i am supposed to leave for california next thursday and my truck is the only thing that can pull the 48 foot trailer i need to pull so it pretty much doesnt get any worse than it is right now. tell you what though next time i will have onstar activated cause the 19 dollars is worth it not to mention extra insurance will always be purchased. that is if i ever afford to have another duramax any time soon after bein put in the hole by this ordeal

I suggest going one step further than OnStar,Its sucks that we learn from our mistakes

OnStar did absolutly nothing for me,besides piss me off

there is way better Sat tracking systems that can be installed, Some will actually pay a XXX amount of money if your truck is stolen while under there monitoring and can also reduce Insurance cost

I was shocked when i found out that OnStar only looks for 48hrs,I dont know if its still this way?

Also, I did a lot of reseach about this after my baby was taken,As do all the criminals
my findings where that GPS tracking is better than OnStar due to the fact that you can have seperate power to the GPS and run the antenna in lots of different locations that are unknown to the thieves

all they have to do is pull the fuse for OnStar and WHAM no signal

IN ORDER TO BEAT A THIEF,YOU HAVE TO OUTSMART THEM.

PS- my truck was never found:( I hope this is not your case
