A Rubiks cube. Grrrr. All day, but I am getting it slow but surely. I have done it all myself so far. :D:confused:

On Edit: I have almost figured out one side. I have before had one side and all the blocks correct that relate to the sides. If that makes sence.

You won't be getting any sleep tonight. I hate gifts like those, they're fun but very very addicting. Good luck.

And if it makes you feel any better the world record for solving the rubiks cube is under 20 seconds after removing it from the package. :D Although I myself have yet to solve it.

I went to school with a kid that could do it in under a min 9 out of 10 times. And there was no trick, he would let you "mess" it up and he would still get it. From what I have been told there is some type of math to do it:confused:

Rubick's cubes drove me nuts back when I was a kid. Never could figure it out, not even one side.

Yeah the guy that invented it was a math teacher. The history or discovery channel did a segment on it not too long ago. I guess if you understand the math behind it, it's pretty easy to figure out. I was always good at math, but the only way I could solve the "cube" was by pealing the stickers off and sticking them back on.....:angel:

I think I got one of these for Christmas about 1980 or so. Still haven't solved it, but I haven't really tried much in the last 27 years.

Each layer gets progressively more difficult to solve. By the third layer, it is very hard to minipulate one piece without screwing up what you've already done. I solved it many years ago but do not think I could do it now. Brain is too atrophied (fancy word for lazy). Anyway, back in the day my fasted time for completing the cube was 1 min. 28 sec. but of course that is way short of impressive. I once saw a video of some dude complete it in (I think) 28 seconds WITH ONLY ONE HAND. That was truly amazing!

Good luck with that thing! At the very least, your brain will receive a nice massaging,...... or scrambling.
