well for starter I've been mean to this truck. tried a lot of things. my efi live is a little hot I spike 40psi on my hot tune(how my stock tranny is holding i have no idea) well my turbo sounds funny there no screching or grinding, it howls like it a aftermarket charger im lost for words. i have never blocked my egr or pvc rerout, im doing that this week if anyone can help out it would be great.

sounds like his problem started with over-speeding the turbo, induction overhaul doesnt need to be addressed at this time ;)

IMO, the 40psi boost was responsible, getting a less restrictive inlet no doubt helps, but still, boosting a stock charger to 40psi is still the problem here.

Does it sound like a power steering unit in need of oil?

Just so that I was clear, and this is not clear to everyone:

Estimates:
40 psi at 3000 rpm=180,000 rpm (restriction)
40 psi at 3000 rpm=150,000 rpm (restriction removed)

so it's not just a good idea, its compulsory if you want ANY longevity at 40 psi. IOW, it is not the psi, but the rpm that kills.

I think the people that are seeing 40psi happen upon it by accident. I dont think most are actually tuning towards this number

Check your charger like Kat suggested in the post linked above. Your tuning needs some work. I agree with Larry.

No reason to go above 32 psi on the stocker.
