Stock Fuel Pickup??

So this might be a dumb question, but when is an aftermarket fuel pickup needed? At what HP level is the stock pickup not efficient?

ive heard 550hp but its not set in stone. The way i look at it, if you replace it its one less thing to worry about in the future when you have fuel delivery problems. BTW the 1/4 issues ive heard/seen are false if you install a PPE billet pick up (cant say for the rest). I run mine pretty low alot and have had no issues

I was thinking the Hellman sump or SIKDMAX version. Dont know if it would be worth my time or money to get one though.

I really like the Hellman system, but I justt cant have anything under my transferflow tank to smack the ground as I already have marks on the bottom from hitting speed bumps.

Anyways, I havent had an issue with my stock pickup at 572hp.

I have a tank with the hole already cut in it for a Hellman

i'd go with the sump. no question. i've installed the Socal pickup and SD lift pumps on another truck and had 1/4 tank issues. i put the pickup about 2mm off the tank floor. although i never took it apart again to find out what was wrong if anything

So before I waste my money on something like this, do you think I would benifit from it?

benefit? maybe not but if you're like me you've wasted more money on more useless stuff so I say it cant hurt matters so why not put a Hellman sump in??
We run one on our Dodge pull truck and it's a nice piece for sure.
