Stock 05 Lly drops rail real hard full throttle(limp mode?)

Ok it was sub degree weather all day today and I get in my truck, let it warm up for a while. Go down the road and it feels like it is misfiring under wot and dropping rail to like 7-9k under partial throttle it's fine. I checked my edge cts. And it had a code for generator L low circuit. I reset it and it's still in like a limp mode under wot. Could it just be a clogged filter? It's not real old. Maybe 2-3 months. But it's been nasty cold out. Truck runs fine under normal driving. It just drops rail tremendously under heavy boost. The more the throttle goes down it gets

That's probably what's going on, because it's not draining as bad as I've been driving it, calling for 23k dropping down to 19-21k wot. Got a new filter I will throw on her tonight. It's been negative numbers last 2 nights.

Now that I think about it, that p0621 code probably tripped when my idler pulley took a crap the other day and broke the serpentine belt. Just didn't trip the cel on dash. So yeah most likely my filter getting frozen restricting flow. Changed it out today and threw my winter cover on. Hate this weather...

Sounds like it gelling up. Use additive in the winter time.

I do use additive every fill up. A half a bottle of PS every tank usually. The one time I get fuel at a different station... I've just never experienced the truck losing power with a frozen filter. Never happened to me. Also the trouble code threw me off a little. Thanks guys

Devon use Howes. I hate power service. Always have had problems with it in our bucket trucks. Switched to Howes about 2 years ago and it hasn't let us down yet. All I'll run in my truck and the company bucket trucks :thumb:
