Does anyone know if the overhead console is the same on the trucks and vans? My van didnt come with one, but some of the vans do.

Can I just cut the headliner where the optional 'pocket' is and put one in there?

Was thinking about putting some gauges up there.

Or maybe an Insight moniter
Something like this:

Would I even need the pocket first? I could probably figure a way to put it in without the pocket.
I guess if I cut a hole in the headliner and cant make it work its just a few extra ounces of weight reduction.

I did this on my 05 Reg cab work truck. I picked up a console off ebay, cut a hole in the headliner, and come to find there's no bracket on the roof panel to mount the console.

So now WTF! I got a huge hole in my headliner and no way to mount the console. I made a bracket out of 1"X1/8? thick aluminum flat stock and epoxyed it to the roof. So far no issues.
