Whats the difference between the van block heater cord and the truck?

My 06 van didnt come with the heater cord when i bought it new, so the dealer ordered one.

my 07 lbz truck had the cord but it would blow the gfci outlet in the garage everytime. plug it int a non-gfci outlet and nothing would happen, no tripped fuse, no block heated.

i remember reading something about the lbz block heater cord being temp sensitive or something because of problems throwing cel or something.

but I ordered the van heater cord because it would heat whenever i plugged it in to a cool/not ran for a while engine.

the 06 van and 07 lbz block heater cord have different part numbers, anyone know the difference?

i put the van heater cord i ordered on the truck today. havent ran the truck since friday, the ect was 48 when i plugged it in and 74 a few minutes later. so i know it works. i didnt start it tho to see if it would throw a cel. I'll plug it in for a half hour or so before i start the truck in the morning.

ok, the stepchild block heater works fine on the lbz truck.

ect & air temp were low 40's when i plugged in the truck. left it plugged in for an hour or so. ect was upper 90's.

truck started and ran fine no cel.

yea, my truck cord was bad. but i thought i read that the lbz cords were temp sensitive or something. and would only work below a certain temp. then i remembered the van cord worked pretty much anytime the engine was cld or wasnt run for a while.

i think my best bet would be just get as far out of MI as i can and go somewhere they ont have cold days and then i wouldnt think about stupid stuff like this. my only worry would be finding another cold beer. speaking of, i dont know where i am right now, butif anybody is nearby i'm out.

I've never heard of the temperature sensitive cord thing before. I don't think mine is, but I've never plugged it in.
