Us speedo just came out with a kit to do them all in LED. It's not to bad to do. Remove the airbag so you can get a little more slack on the wires and have at it :) I bet it would take someone forst time doing it about two hours

All but one of mine are out! is it possible to to without removing the bag? I thought i read somewhere that you can easily pull them out and snap the new ones in but sounds to easy.

Yes you can do it without removing airbag. Just get a knife and work your way around each side of the button and pry. The wires are really short so once you can see behind it use the knife to undo the connector. Then take the plastic off the back if the button and pull out the circuit board. Make sure the button side is down or the little blue pins will fall out.

You definitly don't need to pull the airbag but it makes trying to get those little wiring clips out much easier as you can give yourself some extra slack. As far as removing the airbag I first remove the airbag fuse from underhood fuse box , then undo the yellow connector under the kick panel (right below steering Column) then use a small dia screwdriver or pick or chop stick and press the detents in on each side of the airbag( at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) then the bag will slide right out :)

Pull the wheel, pull the airbag, and work on it at the kitchen table. It's quicker and you won't damage anything. Having a 12v source is handy to bench test the bulbs is nice, seeing that they are polarity sensitive...

I just replaced the switches. It was as easy as popping them out, unplugging the wire, plugging the new wire in (this was the most difficult part due to the wire length), and pushing them back in the wheel. They were ~$20 a piece from GM my cost.

So whats everyone think the best way to do it is... I dont feel like taking off the whole wheel/air bag..... if its easy as prying them out and using fishing line I might as well do that...
