New to the forum but hoped someone could help me out. Replaced several suspension parts including Pitman Arm with all Moog HD parts. Did not take pics before I started but have this Question. It seems that the Pitman arm should go on to the box shaft spine further, but am I wrong. Here are the pics of now installed. does anyone have pics of theirs installed?

My Moog parts have never gone up the shaft very far either. Barely enough to have the nut fully threaded. I think I even had to tighten first without the lock washer to be able to get the lock washer on. I'd say it's normal but I'm not so sure it's "good".

It's a tapered spline. As long as everything is tight it's fine. I would recommend checking it a few times in the first 5-10,000 miles just to be safe.

That is normal. As stated above, it's tapered. The moogs taper was not offset in as far as the original one you took off. It's no problem though. Don't get aggressive with that nut, it strips easier than one would think:rofl:

on moog pitman arms i have them rechecked the first 100, then the next 500 miles. they have been known to loosen up some as the taper isnt quite right. i get anywhere from 1/2 to full turn out of the nut after 100 miles, then very little to none at 500. that was 3-4 years ago though. i have been only using GM pitman arms since or the bigger rare parts ones
