Steel or cast flywheel

This is a non-Duramax question....

I have a '70 Chev plow truck w/ a dead 307 SBC, a 4 speed, an NP205 t-case and 4.11 gearing.

I also have a balanced 383 SBC that came out of a CC/LB. The motor balancing was done with an externally balanced flexplate for a TH400. This motor is maybe in the 300 HP range, and usually never saw more than 5000 rpm in the other truck that had 3.73 gearing.

I want to put the 383 in the '70, but keep the 4 speed so I need a flywheel that is externally balanced. I will be installing a better clutch for the 383 during the swap.

Should I pay the extra $$ for a steel flywheel, or will a stock cast flywheel be OK with the power level of the 383?

Thank you for the help.
