Hi I'm Nick I'm new to this site and I've always heard good things about you guys and I need some help on this build I'm getting myself into. I'm preparing for a 1,000+ HP build on my LB7. I need some help with finding bottom end parts that are gonna be able to handle this amount of hp. If you guys have any suggestions or questions about this build feel free to speak your mind (be reasonable fellas).

Are you looking to over build it or do the bare minimum for 1000 horse?

Carrillo rods and some fingers oval bowl pistons will be a start. Stock delipped pistons will do it but I wouldn't want to run them that hard for a long time.

I wanna do things the right way and build it.

Would you mind explaining that a little more?

Just know what your getting into. If you don't work on it yourself and have knowledge about the truck, it will probably be in the shop pretty often. Not trying to shoot you down, but when you start playing with high hp, parts fail, things go wrong, and the truck will require a lot more of your attention than a stock truck.

Even having a 700 hp truck personally, I spend a lot of time working on it, changing little things, etc.

You can't just drive 1000 hp like you can a 150hp sedan. You're truck will require tender loving care if you plan to use 1000hp at all.

What's on the list for 15k that doesn't even include the motor?

I see what you're saying. I am building it on my own. The only thing I'm not doing is honing, boring, and squaring the cylinders in block.

As much as I'd love to read off my list to you I'd much rather figure out what crank I need for my motor.

Out and about
Read below... My turbos are a little on the bigger side for what your looking to do, some of what I have done would not be required. Just what I did to mine.

Well your build list would be beneficial for us to look over in order to see what you need.

Stock lb7 or lly crank. Carillo rods, fingers cast Pistons, arp headstuds, main studs, flex plate and bolts, you'll want to have the entire rotating assembly balanced too. Internally is better. Clevite bearings, engine gasket kit, new oil pump, pinned water pump, etc.

Then there are pushrods, heads, valves, springs, rockers.

Then there is injectors, cp3's, lift pumps, billet hold downs, atleast 6k+ in turbos and kits, manifolds, up pipes, inter cooler, etc.

It will not be cheap. If you want a true 1000+ hp street truck build right, I would say it's safe to say expect $7-8k in the short block, 2-8k in headwork (depending on what heads you get), 2-3k in fuel mods, and another 3-7k in turbos. Plus all the accessories, aftermarket radiators, fans, stainless lines, etc. those numbers are on the low side too imo.
