My truck came with the accordion tow mirrors on it so of course I took those off and went with the new style tow mirrors and love them...well now that the truck has plan of going "faster" and has literally towed 1 trailer since I have owned it, I'm thinking I may want to go to the "regular" mirrors.

Can anyone post a few pics of when they had tow mirrors to now having regular mirrors?

Mine may not help much because my truck looks significantly different in the pictures I have with tow mirrors versus the pictures I have with regular mirrors.

I have a set of chrome capped regular mirrors, power and heated if you're interested in trading also. I have an '01 though so plug might be different?

I wouldn't be interested in chrome capped ones.

I don't know how I feel about trading either, the passenger mirror can be a little stubborn sometimes and won't move the glass properly, I wouldn't want someone else to have to deal with it.

AFAIK they are all chrome capped for OBS silverados from the factory. only tahoe, burb, Yukon had a color option.

Looking on good ol ebay, you can get the black plastic ones without chrome caps.

I love the look of the lmm+ standard mirrors, but now I'm not so sure I like the standard mirrors for 03-07.

Some came black, the ones I bought for my truck have black caps. The caps are stick-on too, so if you can find a set of chrome cap mirrors and a separate set of black caps they can be swapped out. Did that on my 01.

I'm in the process of grafting on a set of lmm mirrors I will post a pic when done. So far its a lot of work

chrome caps was a 99-02 thing only, for both trucks and SUV's. 2003-2007 pickup trucks had all black textured plastic mirrors only, regardless of trim level.

2003-2007 SUV's all had body-color mirrors, unless its a super base model SUV.

If you see a 2003+ truck or SUV with chrome mirror caps, its something aftermarket...

You will regret cheap-o mirrors from ebay... They will shake so much you cant see in them

Replaced my wife's with eBay ones, (She didn't want to spend the $$ on OEM) Installed. She left to the store and called 5 min later telling me to order OEM cause they were moving/shaking so bad she couldn't see. I was lucky, I was able to return them to the eBay seller.

Mike I too have thought about this. Like custom autos blue trucks mirrors. SS style

eh Im not a fan of those...I think they look like something cheesy off of a 90's compact car...and they dont fold.

Until someone makes an aftermarket power-fold tow mirror for the GMT-800's (or until I find a set of 2015+ power fold tow mirrors for free and figure out how to retrofit those onto a GMT-800), Im perfectly happy with my standard power folding mirrors.

I dont tow enough to want to put up with the lack of power fold on the GMT-800 tow mirrors. And I hate how they arent level. Yes, I know you can take them apart and shim them to level them, but even when you do that, they still look "off", and from <10' away you can tell they were hacked with...
