I have a stage 4 suncoast with a 1056 thats never seen over 500 hp and has around 65,000 miles on it now. ever since it was built i have been getting stuck solenoids every 10,000 miles i have been replacing them either 1 or two at a time and they all have been replaced. now my problem is starting all over again the truck is throwing codes you cant drive down the road with out EFI lilve hooked to it clearng codes it starts in 4th gear fluids are getting to 200 plus degreese. and every time i drop the pan there is always a 1/4 inch of sludge in the bottom. The trans was built by a very good allison builder that has built many of them before both stock and suncoast.

how many miles does a built allison last that has been raced and pulled at my level?

could the 1056 be self destructing?

also every 5,000 miles the spin on is changed and it is full to the top with sludge every single time since the time it was built. you cant tell the difference between tranny fluid and engine oil thats how bad it is.

Some one tell me where to go with this:confused:

Jeff (WSU Cowboy) was having the same issue plus a few different ones. His convertor was refreshed and that seemed to fix things. He is running a 1057. His truck was at 500HP all the time. His last dyno was dyno 550ish. I'll see if I can find the thread for you.

Sounds like the converter.... Clutch is what is making your oil dark, also hanging up the solenoids & plugging everything up. I would pull the trans. for a tear down & inspection. Ship the converter back for a rebuild.

is there anyway i can test for a dying convertor

At this time it's a mute issue as a complete tear down is necessary with all the debris floating around but you can check TC slip and stall speed

Sounds like your TC is shot and flowing matter through out your transmission

Hard to remember. Converter was bad and the P2 planet and C2 hub had twisted splines. I believe the C3 and C2 clutches were going bad.

That was a long time ago. He was pretty butt hurt over the whole deal. I'm glad you got things straightened out for him. Do you remember anything about the converter? I can't remember if he had Sun Coast cut and clean it.

I had Terry at Precision Industries go through it.

well i tore the transmission down tonight and i came up with a bunch of delaminated clutches, burnt clutches, and completly wore out clutches. all of my hubs need replacing the planetaries look ok now. i need to finish tearing down the last few parts but i beleve my input shaft may be damaged.

so if anyone has any internal parts for sale let me know what you have i need just about everything but a case:mad:
