I have a loud squealing/screeching noise coming from my right front wheel area. it just started happening yesterday and is pretty loud. a couple of weeks ago, i put my truck in a ditch. i didn't go in hard and i came right back out, but i had a shit ton of mud all over and under my truck. the other day i washed it off and sprayed it down. it was fine before i washed it, and ever since i've washed it, it has been making the noise. a couple of my buddies told me to take the wheel off and check the brake pads and rotor to make sure nothing is wedged in there and/or the rotor and brake pads are getting worn down. but i am also worried that maybe the wheel bearings or cv joint might be going bad.

does anyone have any experience with this problem? any words of advice?

take the wheel off and look for any rocks stuck between the rotor dust shield and the rotor. that will cause a horrible screach like a million nails on a chalk board. checking for a bad wheel bearing/pads is also a good idea

I hope it is a stone in the brakes. It could also be a unit bearing. Maybe you washed some dirt into a bad seal from going in the ditch???
