Ok well my whole family drag races and has always drag raced..
I like the truck pulling but latley i have really be thinking about switching to drag racing i know theres not a deisel class but i could run every other saturday at the bracket events and stuff like that.
I have been thinking about taking my rc lb LMM and making it s short bed.
i know for pulling this will not help but for drag it seems the thing to do and i like the look of it..
any advice and such on what u guys think.. ??
and i have a tranny im pulling out this week so ill have my tranny lift pumpp track bars im gonna get some d.o.t slicks mabe and start working on my tunning..
But i know most of u guys and girls here are drag racers just wondering if u could shed some light on how much work it is to have a good drag truck.
i mean i have gone and ran my truck acouple times and ran good #'s but is the abuse worst or not as bad as sled pulling ??

Thanks
Tyler

Tyler do not worry about makeing your truck a short bed it wont get u no where. Keep the long bed its only what 200 more pounds thats nothing. Diesel needs load in order to create power. If u keep that extra 200 pounds thats 5 more hp it will keep. Will u tell the trucks faster? I highly dought this. Brad morse single cab sb dodge weights as much as my ext cab sb chevy. he weights 6300 pounds and i weight 6400 pounds. Keep the long bed u will like it when u put a tool box in that truck.

kurt the truck will never have a box and i can see u dont know much about drag racing. from what im told ever 100 pounds lost is a tenth gained..
and this truck is soon to be no longer daily driven..
and it doesnt seem like morse has a problem keeping his truck loaded being a short bed.. and if ur right then why do all the dhra truck has short beds ????
or atleast most of them

funny:rofl:

tyler there is a thread in here about wieght reduction;)
lennart is a member here and im sure if you PMed him he could send some pics ans perhaps give a little advice on the shortbox conversion, i dont think it would be hard but lennart may have some tips

im thinking that fuel cell would be nice ,but heard a ruhmer they are not allowed:confused: but a smaller fuel tank would be nice

good luck with the project

Tyler that is a lie my truck will run the same time with me and my brother in it as it would with just u in it. Its ever 100 for gas and they say 200 for diesel. IMHO its bull with me in the truck paul used to run 14.4's with old set up and with me out filming he would run 14.4

ok kurt either way its going short bed..
yea i found a place today in tampa that has driect take off beds and they said if mine was in good condition they would trade me out.
and plus i have a rhino liner i just gotta figure out how to cover up the stack whole. but im gonna get the truck shortend and tranny built and see were im at.. me and todd were talking and i was gonna gut the truck but i have opted against that because being shortend someone still might want to buy it havint no insides is like uhh..
and i have shortend two trucks before with my dad and its not that hard..
just alot of drilling for the leaf spring perch's to move forward..
