Got an 05 silverado, hopped in it the other day and the radio wasn't playing anything through the speakers. Radio was on but no noise and a little bit of static through them now and then. Today they came on and would cut in and out, then static even with the truck off. I'm thinking a ground somewhere. Where are some grounds I can check?

Mind did something similar. I ended up replacing the head unit and speakers to fix it

I replaced my speakers and it solved my problem. They went bad one at a time until I was listening to one rear speaker.

Okay thanks. I'll start with the head unit then go from there. The strangest part is that the speakers go full volume static as soon as I unlock the doors. Didn't matter which radio was in it. It originally happened with the original factory radio.

Mine started working again. I know of another guy that has an 06 with bose and his speakers work but they're whisper quiet.

9 times out of 10, when the speakers go "bad" in these trucks, they actually arent bad at all..... Its corrosion in the speaker connector terminals that causes a bad connection.

Play music with the door panel off and the speaker out, while wiggling the speaker connector or plugging in and unplugging it a couple times and I guarantee the music will suddenly start playing normally.

That makes since, mine would come and go for a while until they just quit one at a time.
