Since I'm running 33's, does it still make sense for me to carry around my spare tire? I know I could run it on the front for a little ways without problems but would a plug kit and electric air pump be a better choice? Just trying to shed some weight. :)

Keep the spare. A plug kit wont help if your tire completely comes apart. Im sure there are many not running a spare tire me included. But boy how i wish i had it at time

I can see me sitting on the side of the road with a shredded tire explaining to my wife why I dont have a spare.

We never ran spares until last year. Coming home from CO from the DHRA a event we had a tire shred pulling a trailer with Casper on back after we finally got it fixed another blew in another 100 miles. It was a trip from hell.

Long story short spares are all back on.

Comes to find out there is a recall now on the tires we where running on Blue

I have a 315/70-17 spare on the roof rack and the trailer spare is in the stock spare location. The trailer spare has been used, but the 315 hasn't...yet.

Have you thought about upgrading to a 33" tire for a spare? It's not good to run with different sized tires on a 4wd truck.

I have a 35" spare mounted underneath-just in case.
